Vineyard Homes' Custom Design Process

Step 1: Site Assessment – Do you already own a lot or do you need to purchase one from us? If you are looking for a site, we'll offer personalized consultation on which of our properties best suits your style and budget. If you own a lot, we'll work with you to determine how you'd like to utilize the land. Based on your goals, we'll build a plan insuring that your new home enhances the lot's natural features, while complying with any neighborhood, municipal, and state requirements for the property.

Step 2: Floor Plan – How many square feet, how many rooms, and how will they fit together? These are just a few of the questions we'll answer in this stage of the process. As we develop your floor plan, we'll consider both the practical and aesthetic needs of your family, ultimately designing a solution that pleases the eye, while supporting your day-to-day activities.

Step 3: Exterior Architecture – What's your favorite architectural style? In this step, we'll decide on the exterior personality of your home, determining building materials as well as choosing an exterior style from popular categories such as Tuscan/Old World, Mediterranean Estate, Spanish Colonial, Contemporary, or another style of your choice.

Step 4: Interior Architecture – How will the interior of your home reflect the theme of the external design? In this stage, we'll further define the overall look of your home by selecting interior architectural elements. You'll be able to incorporate details such as ceiling heights, built-in storage, alcoves, fireplaces, staircase design, and more.

Step 5: Finishing Details – Do you want energy-efficient appliances, chrome fixtures, and the latest in-home technologies? Whatever your lifestyle and tastes demand, you'll select finishing details that make sense both functionally and visually. Working with one of our design experts, you'll choose amenities and finishes that support the overall look of the home.

Step 6: Outdoor Living Space – How will you showcase the outdoor qualities of your home? Especially in Arizona, we're privileged to take advantage of beautiful weather conditions year-round. In this step, you'll create exterior living spaces that portray your relationship with the natural world. Working with one of our landscape designers, you'll choose trees, plants, and flowers, as well as add-on elements such as fountains and swimming pools.

Step 7: Interior Design – Do you need help furnishing your new home? In the final step of the process, we'll refer you to one of our trusted interior designers to help you select and implement furniture, window coverings, wall finishes, and more. As you complete the final details of your residence, Vineyard Homes will continue to support you, providing any final advice, references, and community resources, as necessary.
